About Rogers Bloodstock

Born across the road from Victoria Park Racecourse in Adelaide, Jeremy’s passion for horses began at a young age.

Most weekends were spent attending the races on a Saturday with his father and riding horses on his uncle’s property on a Sunday.

Once leaving school, Jeremy went to University to become a Stockbroker in an attempt to own a  racehorse, and when he wasn’t required at university he worked in a nearby racing stable where he realised that racing was his true passion.

Jeremy moved to Victoria in 1994, working as a studhand for a few months at Wyndholm Park before heading to Hobsons Lodge at Flemington. During his time there, he was fortunate to look after 1996 Group 1 VRC Sires winner My Duke. Later that year he moved to the Lindsay Park stables before winning a Scholarship to attend the highly regarded Marcus Oldham College at Geelong in 1998.

After completing a Diploma in Horse Business Management and being named Dux of the Class, Jeremy headed overseas and obtained a position at the Nunnery Stud in England. This was Sheik Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Public Stud which stood the stallions Green Desert, Nashwan and Unfuwain. After completing two breeding seasons there, Jeremy travelled to Ireland and worked with Sheik Handan’s yearlings at Derrinstown Stud during the off season.

With his Visa coming to an end, he returned in 2000 to take up a studhand position at the much-acclaimed Waikato Stud in New Zealand. After spending a few years working hands-on with the mares and foals, an opportunity then presented to work in the administration of the Stud

His passion for yearlings and the sales continued to grow here and he developed quite an astute and discerning eye for bloodstock.

After ten years at Waikato Stud, he returned to Australia taking up a Racing Manager position with Forest Lodge Racing. Part of his job was to attend the Yearling Sales throughout Australia and New Zealand with some of his most successful purchases including 1000 Guineas winner Amphitrite and Magic Millions 3YO Classic winner Mahuta. He was also associated with the purchases of dual Group 1 winners Trust In A Gust and Kenedna.

Jeremy’s meteoric rise in successful yearling selection saw well renowned syndicators Roll The Dice Racing enlist his services. This combination has proven very lucrative with racehorses including Krone (Group 1 Coolmore Classic and $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Classic), Profiteer ($2 million Inglis Millennium), as well as Stakeswinners Anjana and Twitchy Frank.

Jeremy’s work ethic, professionalism and respect within the racing industry was duly recognised in 2017 when he was awarded one of the highest accolades in the industry with the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards for Dedication to Racing as well as the overall Thoroughbred Excellence Award.

Jeremy operates Rogers Bloodstock in conjunction with being Racing Manager for Archie Alexander.

Apart from his devotion to horse racing, his other interests include cricket, and AFL where he is a long time member of his beloved Geelong Cats.

When it comes to buying yearlings, Jeremy’s philosophy is simple – I will only buy a yearling that I would be happy to have a share in.”
